Consultation on Carbon Leakage List 2021 – 2030

On October 2017, the European Commission launched an Inception Impact Assessment on Carbon Leakage List 2021 – 2030. The Inception Impact Assessment (or Roadmap) is part of the preparatory phase of decision making process and allows the European Commission to describe the scope, purpose and timing of new laws and policies and to collect inputs from stakeholders and civil society on the methodology.

In its answer, Glass for Europe recommended to include in the data sources of the future impact assessment, the cumulative cost assessments (see news below) of the industrial sectors carried on under the umbrella of the European Commission services ,as it provides an unprecedent statistical analysis of the sector’s activities in Europe and a comparison with competing border countries.
