CPR Guide: EU Rules, Practical Impact

Regulation (EU) 305/2011, more commonly referred to as the Construction Products Regulation (CPR), replaces the 1989 Construction Products Directive (CPD). This legislation sets out the rules governing when and under which conditions, the CE marking must accompany construction products placed on the EU market. The purpose of the following guide is to explain the main changes between the ‘old’ Construction Products Directive and the ‘new’ Construction Products Regulation. It is not meant to explain all the measures in relation to CE marking since the industry should already CE mark its products and know the basic rules. Of all changes to the rules, three items are particularly relevant to glass products: the declaration of performance, affixing the CE marking and derogations.
