Glass for Europe supports the Copenhagen Commitment at REDay

November 4, 2025

On 3 November, the Renovate Europe campaign – which Glass for Europe contributes to – organised Renovate Europe Day in Copenhagen in presence of the European Commissioner for Energy & Housing, Dan Jørgensen.

On the occasion of the REDay, more than 70 organisations and industry leaders from the energy efficiency, construction, and renovation sectors have signed the Copenhagen Commitment.

The initiative calls for stable legislation, predictable financing, and stronger support for Europe’s industrial and manufacturing capacity in producing energy-efficient materials, including flat glass and glazing.

Signatories stress that a robust EU industrial base is essential to reducing emissions from buildings, lowering housing costs through improved energy performance, and helping citizens cut their energy bills while maintaining Europe’s global competitiveness.

These messages were echoed during the Renovate Europe Day which made very clear that Europe’s energy security, competitiveness, and climate goals are intertwined and all depend on accelerating renovation.
