Following the summer break, we resume our work with many challenges ahead of us but also eager to take advantage of the window of opportunities offered by the upcoming review of EU climate and energy legislations. The "Fitfor55" package proposes an unprecedented push to building renovation.

As you will read in this newsletter, during the last months, Glass for Europe has been busy with the release of the “fit for 55” package, the use of interleavants in the flat glass sector and the Sustainable Finance Regulation, just to mention a few. We have also welcomed a new national partner, the “Polish Glass Manufacturers Federation (ZPPS)”, which rapidly engaged in Glass for Europe’s communication activities and supported the editing of Glass for Europe’s lastest video communication campaign for a polish audience.

To accompany an evolution in the activities of the association and and to adapt to planned staff changes, Glass for Europe has also launched a reorganization of its secretariat over summer. Luca Oggianu who has been working with Glass for Europe for some years will take responsibility for all Public Affairs and Communication activities as of October 1st. A new colleague also joins Glass for Europe, Iva Ganev, who is a navigated energy and climate public affairs expert. Iva will take responsibility over Environment and Climate Policy, which is going to keep us extremely busy in the months to come with the adoption of the EU’s Fitfor55 package. Finally, we also hope to welcome very soon a new colleague who will be tasked to coordinate our technical regulations’ activities including some new projects and automotive glazing issues.

New visual communication campaign
Three new videos are now available in different languages to Glass for Europe’s members and national partners for their advocacy and communication activities. The videos aim at improving awareness about glass properties, enlarging the set of advocacy tools in view of the release of the EPBD proposal and communicating about non energy related benefits of glazing.
|
|
As of today, the videos have been posted on different social media platforms and on Brussels based EU media. Thanks to Glass for Europe’s national partners cooperation, the communication campaign will not be limited to EU institutions only. The videos in Italian, French, Dutch, German and Polish will reach national governments and be accessible to much larger audience.
