REDay 2019, the annual event of the Renovate Europe campaign, took place on Tuesday, October 8, in Brussels. Glass for Europe is a proud supporter of this EU-wide campaign which calls on a reduction of the energy demand of the building stock in the EU by 80% by 2050. Window and glazing renovation offer a huge potential for reducing energy demand in buildings and avoid CO2 emissions.
High-level speakers and a cross-section of concerned stakeholders participated in the event, which was hosted in the European Parliament. The event also included an exhibition which will remain on display in the European Parliament until October 11. This exhibition showcases best practices in energy-efficient renovation projects and programmes. Energy renovation is already happening, but further efforts are needed to ensure the European building stock becomes climate neutral by 2050. High performance glazing products are already delivering massive energy savings and CO2 emissions avoidance as evident in all showcased renovation projects.
